In 1959, Dieter Schnebel composed "Glossolalie", a work of central importance to his musical thinking. It forms part of the group of his pieces which, "as prepared material to make music" (Schnebel), deliberately do not pursue composed-out music as a result but serve as a detailed concept for the performer.
