'Iguana' is an elementary piano solo w/lyrics from 'Noah's Ark Series' by Lynne Cox. This sassy iguana is from Costa Rica and he is dancing a tango! Set in D harmonic minor (A sections) and D natural minor (B section), 'Iggy' establishes the rhythmic ostinato that is typical of this Latin dance in the intro, and is repeated throughout the piece as the accompaniment coloring the entire piece. RH carries mostly the single-note melody with some 3rds and 6ths adding harmony. Form is: intro A B coda. Lyrics are fun and very educational as to this reptile's characteristics, habitat, and lifestyle. Included is an 'Actual Factual' page on the back explaining in depth the theory of the piece and his habitat. These 'Actual Factual' pages are on the backs of all of solos in the 'Noah's Ark Series' in hopes that the student could make a project of this in school in science or social studies culminating in his/her performance of the piece on a portable keyboard.
