David Carr Glover
David Carr Glover (1925–1988) founded the Glover School of Music in Portsmouth, Virginia in the mid 1940’s. Then, in the early 1950’s he began to publish original piano solos as individual sheet music; first on his own and then for Charles Hansen Publishing. Unlike most other composers/educators at the time, he specialized in boogie-woogie and jazz pieces for piano students and they were extremely well received. He also wrote numerous method books for both piano and the home organ. These included the David Carr Glover Piano Course (1956), Boogie-Woogie and How to Play It (1958), David Carr Glover New Organ Course (1962), Piano Student and Piano Repertoire (1967) for Belwin-Mills Publishing, and David Carr Glover Method for Piano (1988) for CPP/Belwin Publications. Many of his method books and teaching pieces are still widely used today; having sold millions of copies throughout the world! Download and print David Carr Glover sheet music here.
