The Doors were an Los Angeles based band. They formed in 1965, signed with Elektra Records in 1966 and release 8 albums from 1967 to 1971; the year that Jim Morrison, the band's leader singer and primary writer, passed away. The band, who greatest hits include "Light My Fire," "Love Her Madly" and "People Are Strange," were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 and have sold more than 100 million records world-wide.
